my resident held my hand while i was doing her hair and said i was a good girl. she's 94.
made adobo for the whole flat share. seven of us around the table on a tuesday night
got a full commendation in my review. supervisor read it out line by line
my resident asked to see photos of the philippines. spent my whole break showing her on my phone. she said it looked like paradise
sent money home and my mum sent back a voice note of the whole family saying thank you
my sister drove an hour to hold the baby so i could have a nap. didn't ask, just said i'm coming tuesday
had a whole cup of tea while it was still hot. both hands free. sitting down.
took her to the beach and she just stood watching the waves. forgot my phone was in my pocket for about an hour
she slept through the night. woke up in a panic thinking something was wrong and she was just lying there
made bread for the first time and it actually rose. showed my mum on facetime
my son called from toronto with no news. just wanted to hear my voice he said
someone gave up their seat on the bus and didn't make a performance of it. just stood up and nodded
made a pot of chicken soup and my neighbour knocked to ask what i was cooking. gave her a bowl
my granddaughter plaited my hair and talked for two whole hours. didn't look at her phone once
church was full this morning. every pew. haven't seen it like that since before covid
something in the garden is flowering that's never flowered before. i've no idea what it is
my neighbour's boy fixed my printer without being asked and refused a penny
the church hall quiz team won last night. i got the capital of Burkina Faso. nobody else did.
finished a whole book in two days. didn't do much else
ran into a former pupil at Waitrose. she's a GP now. remembered the poem i read on her last day. we stood in the bread aisle for twenty minutes
